Stéphane Rambaud-Measson was appointed President, Passengers, Bombardier Transportation in July 2008. The newly formed Passengers Division is the result of the merger of the former Mainline & Metros Division, the LRV (Light Rail Vehicles) Division and BT Australia Division and is composed of 6 Passenger Rolling Stock Business Units.
Prior to assuming his current responsibilities, Mr. Rambaud-Measson served as President, Mainline & Metros, a position he had occupied since December 2005, where he had responsibility for the Metro, Commuter, Regional Trains, Intercity, High Speed and Very High Speed product segment of Bombardier Transportation in Europe and Asia. In this position, he increased the Division turnover by 60%, while improving its profitability and cash flow generation and reinforced Bombardier position as market leader by winning several very large scale projects such as the Commuter Trains for Iles de France (Spacium 3.06), the new Regional Train platform of Deutsch Bahn (Talent 2), the largest Very High Speed contract signed in China (Zefiro) and the largest metro project in India (DMRC RS2).
Mr. Rambaud-Measson began his career at Bombardier Transportation in May 2004 as Group Vice President, Project Management and Administration. In this position, among other things, he successfully directed a company-wide change program aimed at transforming Bombardier Transportation into a project management oriented company. He previously worked as a Senior Consultant in the fields of Infrastructure and Airport at CEGELEC.
From 1990 to 2003, Mr. Rambaud-Measson held various international positions at Alstom Transport. Most recently, as Senior Vice President, Rolling Stock, he was responsible for the Americas business division with three sites in the USA, Canada and Brazil.
Between January 2000 and November 2001, as Senior Vice President, Technology & Quality, he was responsible for key functions, including the Research and Development, Industrial Processes and Quality central departments.
From 1997 to 2000 he served as Managing Director, Electronic Systems, responsible for a product unit specialising in on-board electronics and Embedded Software at locations in both France and Canada. In his preceding years at Alstom Transport, Mr. Rambaud-Measson was responsible for projects involving Train Control & Monitoring Systems for the French TGV high-speed trains. He was also responsible for the electronics systems of the Parisian Metro and for traction systems in the multinational sphere.
Stéphane Rambaud-Measson started his career as a software engineer working for Sagem, both in France and California.
The native Frenchman received a distinction for his Diplôme d'ingénieur in mechanical engineering from Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Arts et Metiers and holds an Engineering degree from Supélec with a specialisation in Signal Processing and Automation.
